Washing My Hair Only With ACV | dpHue ACV Rinse Review

Hey guys! Been a WHILE huh? I will update more on that later. Although I've been mia here on the blog, I've been back on YouTube for a few months now! My original beauty & diy channel is now Bushra Hamilton and BushraLately is more of a vlog channel. So much has happened! I can't wait to share more with you guys later.

I finally got a VoxBox after what feels like a decade lol. I had never heard of this product or brand before so it was exciting to try out. In the past I've done a DIY version of an ACV (apple cider vinegar) rinse and it did NOT go well. It has a rather pungent odor and my whole body ended up smelling like it no matter how careful I was trying to be. Glad that's in the past

I like to think that I'm in the category of "very long" when it comes to hair. It touches my butt. Is that good enough? One of the fastest ways for me to grow out my hair is by not washing it everyday. When you wash it everyday, your hair tends to dry out. It gets thirstier than guys on deployment. I leave mine alone and let it take a break from all the suds. I wash my hair every 3-4 days. It varies on how much dry shampoo I use and how hard I worked out. Sweaty hair gets greasy much quicker. That's where this product comes in. It's supposed to clean your hair without the need of any kind of shampoo. Traditional or dry shampoo! No dry shampoo? What is life?! This product makes some big claims so let's get right to it.

CLAIM: Substitute for Shampoo and Conditioner. Can be used between shampoos to give your hair a break. Works great for color treated hair.

Say whaaat? Substitutes Shampoo AND Conditioner?! We shall SEE. Hmmph!

I tested this bad boy for 1 week. The goal was to see how long I could keep using this ACV Rinse without needing to shampoo or condition at all. I did not use any other product on my hair besides dpHue's ACV Rinse! Check out my video down below to see the outcome!

Wanna know something funny? I went to blogger.com to get to my blog right...and I almost posted this on dirtontherocks.blogspot.com! LOL! Before publishing I noticed all the posts were in draft form. I clicked a few and was like omg this is so old what in the world?! Glad I didn't post it there. I wonder if any of you even read this? Say hi if you do!

REVIEW | John Frieda Frizz Ease 3 Day Straight

Product Claims
"Revolutionary heat-activated formula wraps each strand to seal in longer-lasting straightness without weighing hair down. Protects against heat damage and blocks frizz. Keeps hair glossy, smooth, and swinging with body"

Let's get one thing straight, I don't have curly hair. So why use this? I have random curls and wiggly waves that don't like to stay straight even after I use a flat iron. I love that fresh sleek -just straightened- look but I only get it for a few mins right after I straighten it! I got this product in my J'Dore VoxBox and honestly it was the last thing I tried. I even tested the men's Vaseline spray before this. I have straight hair and I've used one of John Freida's Frizz Ease straightening sprays years before. I liked it a lot, my mom took it, then I forgot about it. I remember it working fine but it was a bit sticky like hair spray. Oh how I marked this NEW product guilty by association! I shouldn't have because this spray is freakn fantastic!

Summer Hair Highlights

I decided to brighten up for SUMMER! Being a dark brunette I don't exactly get natural golden highlights in my hair just from being outside in the sun. I love the look of highlights but it's tricky to do on your own if you have dark hair. It often ends up too chunky, brassy, and like you're from the 90's when you DIY. I love to change my hair practically every season. I get very bored with having the same hairstyle, cut, or color for too long so when I got the chance to be a hair demo for a Matrix class in a salon I couldn't refuse the offer!

Kasi was my hair color expert from the JCPenny Salon in Hiram, GA 30141. Kasi Jennings is also a master stylist so you're in great hands if you go to her. She was professional and funny so there would no awkward silences while she's working on your hair. I vlogged my experience and also made a video on TheGreenSatchel about this.

Our 1st Thanksgiving

Our 1st Thanksgiving!
...ALONE =(

We were going to go up to Maryland again but then we realized it was just too much driving for the moment. We were up there only a week ago anyway and that 12 hour drive is not a joke! Alone, yes but we had fun cooking and bickering all day. I also was able to dye my hair in the meantime haha.

Breakfast
Apple Strudel Pancakes *deliiiiicious!*
I thought I'd be romantic for myself. That heart shaped pancake was made by me FOR me. O yeah.
